The importance of feedback
When was the last time you asked someone, who wasn't your boss, for critical feedback? Feedback has many advantages as a career development intervention:
✔IT'S FREE - nobody charges for feedback
✔IT'S REPEATABLE - the more you keep asking, the more honest and open the feedback becomes
✔IT'S ALWAYS USEFUL - even feedback you don't agree with informs you of the perception that is out there
✔IT BUILDS TRUST - when you ask others for feedback they see that you value their opinion and so, they feel valued
I frequently work with groups that haven't received proper feedback in more than 2 years! If you don't want to know, you don't want to grow.
