Leaders! Be a surgeon!

I've noticed that people I'm working with at the moment are being pulled and dragged from one urgent meeting to another mostly called by their bosses. I get it! It's a crisis and everyone is remote-working; these are tough times. But I get the feeling that, in the absence of certainty, some leaders are finding comfort in calling endless meetings that create the illusion of staying connected and productive. The actual end result is things aren't getting done. People are just bouncing from conference call to conference call (is there a worse hell?!?).
