Ireland is facing into its 33rd general election on the 8th of February 2020. Many politicians have thrown their hat in the ring to let the voters decide their fate so this month I decided to sit down with a first time general election candidate to find out what that is like. Deirdre Geraghty-Smith is a local councillor in my area and she graciously took some time out of campaigning to talk to us about political life. We don't talk about policies or agendas or manifestos. This is a look behind the scenes to see how it all works, who the bosses are, where the drive to get elected comes from and what lessons bosses can learn from politics. And before I get accusations of bias thrown in my direction I'd like to say that I have asked other politicians to be guests and they never responded so I really am extra grateful to Deirdre. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
